Coastal Virginians can expect high surf and rip currents from Sept. 22 to Sept. 24, thanks to Fiona, according to the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.

The hurricane is expected to stay far off the East Coast, but wave heights could rise to between seven and 10 feet on Sept. 22 and 23, officials reported.
